As the only VECCS Level I Trauma Center in San Diego County, our ECC department is committed to caring for the veterinary trauma patient and is equipped to expertly manage all types of traumatic injuries in our state-of-the-art facility. As a Vet Tech in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) you will be responsible for:Collecting samples, placing IV catheters, prepare IV fluids and additives, obtain arterial blood gas samplesCalculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI'sObtaining and reporting vitals, monitoring telemetry, monitor oxygen dependent patientsPlacement and maintenance of nasogastric tube, nasal cannula, central venous cathetersMust be able to prioritize patient hourly treatments and delegate tasks. Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status and report to doctor, educate/update owners on patient status, discharge patients from the hospital.Shift Info:
